The Potter kids found a small black puppy in a shoe box by the gates.

Lily went to pick it up and rushed inside towards Harry who was reading a newspaper in the living room, Al and James trailing behind.

They asked him if they could keep the puppy and he smiled, then nodded.

They set off to the front porch and turned it over, discovering that it was a “he”

Lily wanted to name the puppy “Toto“, like the puppy that she saw in “The Wizard of Oz”

Al insisted that he should be named “Fluffy“, after the three-headed dog that their dad, Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron ran into when they were just first years.

But James simply raised the puppy to eye level and said, “Hey there, Padfoot.”
