Konnichiwa, minna-san!
Alright, I greeted in Japanese because I’ve been obsessed with anime for the past several months, but that’s not what this post is about.
This is about the exam I was supposed to take ages ago but got moved multiple times because of certain reasons.
I booked it in the first week of July, and I only had a month of preparation. I was becoming more and more jittery as the date approached.
The first time the exam was transferred was 6 days before the supposed date, and it was due to the increasing number of cases of Coronavirus’ Delta variant in the city where the test center is located. My family wasn’t yet jabbed with their second dose of vaccine so I requested the center to reschedule to the last week of August, which they thankfully confirmed.
Three days before the exam. My mother and I, both fully vaccinated, were already at the airport, checked in and all, when I received a message from the test center that they have to cancel my exam because the spread of the virus was getting out of hand and I would just have to message them back on what dates I wanted to take it. That was the second time I had to reschedule. When I tell you that I wept in the middle of the airport, I wept. I’ve pushed myself to become prepared for the exam, my parents paid for my expenses that cannot be refunded, and it was all for naught. Although, my mother still pushed me to take this trip instead of cancelling and treat this as a vacation because, according to her, I needed it.
So now, I have to wait again until the 3rd week of October, since that was the only available period left. I hope it’s final, because I’m already exhausted.
