A New Decade // The Roaring 20s

Hi!

So.

2010s, eh?

It was a roller coaster of a ride for me to be honest. A lot has happened within a decade, whether it’s about my personal life, or politics, or the environment, or any other stuff out there.

I graduated high school in 2012, got my bachelors in nursing in 2016, applied at my first job right after passing the board exams the same year, and got assigned in the operating room in June of last year after about a good 8 months of waiting.

Our country’s government is just showing its true colors (I’m not going to enumerate any because I’ll probably spend my time getting into it).

Climate change got worse. A lot of environmentalists are helping out to slow it down. Greta Thunberg [thankfully] stepped up and spoke out about her thoughts on the matter.

A lot of good music and new bands introduced.

And a tooooon of drama in the showbiz industry.

But let’s talk about the 2020s.

There have already been many downsides at the start of 2020. It’s just the fifth day of the year and it’s my 4th day sick, but I’m not going to let it define how I do during the year.

Another one is the bush fire in Australia, which had reportedly killed about half a billion animals and caused several casualties, which is one of the most heart-breaking news I’ve ever heard.

Another is the trending topic of WWIII after the assassination of one of Iran’s leaders, which frightens me a lot.

I can go on but I don’t want to focus too much on the negative when we still have 362 days of the year and more years to come to alter these.

I just hope for world peace and a better government to be honest. My personal goals are better mental health, a motivation to do my hobbies, and a step up in my profession.

I know those wishes are too few, but that’s what I really want to have within the near future, hopefully within this decade, or, although seemingly impossible, within this year. I keep giving myself high hopes and sometimes false reassurances because, frankly, that is how I keep going.

AAAAnyway, let’s just hope that this decade would be more like the Roaring 20s, and would not lead to a repeat like Great Depression.

See you around!
