Day 2 | Crab Mentality | Daily Writing

I’m currently at work right now.

It’s pretty uneventful so far. I took my free time to write this so I don’t forget to post.

I’m currently with two workmates today, one of which I’m close to, the other not so much. I am kind of avoiding them as they have been giving me ideas to hate on certain people who are actually decent.

I try hard to not listen to them, as I know that what they’re saying aren’t true. The thing that’s wrong with me is that I don’t try to stop them from backstabbing these people.

It’s because I’ve already tried to. I’ve told them the positive side of these people but, you know, Filipinos.

I don’t know if people from other nations have noticed or Filipinos are just good at hiding this trait but CRAB MENTALITY is probably the most negative trait that most people here in the Philippines have.

I think it’s probably of envy that one person has on another; because they couldn’t accept that they don’t have the same thing, they would just usually look for a loophole and if they found one, it will be the only thing they’ll brandish about the person to give them a bad image.

I don’t know why they have to do that, but then I remember the phrase “If I can’t have it, neither can you”.

This is why good people can’t have nice things; it’s because of  people who are taking advantage of their goodness and then talking behind their backs when they don’t want anything from them anymore.

This is very pathetic in my honest opinion. If you wanted to have something so bad and step up to someone’s level, why not make an effort? Why do you have to drag them down to your position?

Do everything you can to reach your destination. You’re on the right track, as long as you don’t step on anyone (literally and figuratively).

Note: This was supposed to be published last night but I don’t know what happened.
